Harvey Nichols is set to launch the first phase of a major transformation of its Knightsbridge flagship store, unveiling a newly reimagined ground floor in September 2025 as part of its ongoing strategic reset.
The redevelopment will be carried out in stages across each level of the building, with the ground floor representing a significant evolution for the luxury retailer. The new space will blend fine and designer jewellery with a curated lifestyle offer, featuring products from established fashion houses and contemporary designers, as well as homeware, artisan candles, sculptural vases, tabletop objects, books-as-art, and collectable pieces.
Chief executive officer Julia Goddard described the project as “an exciting chapter in the evolution of our brand”. She told TheIndustry.fashion, “The ground floor will house a global destination for designer and fine jewellery, featuring a curated mix of established and emerging makers alongside exceptional lifestyle and design pieces”.
The redesign will introduce bold primary colours and adaptable, movable fixtures, allowing for evolving brand collaborations and seasonal storytelling. Notably, the ground floor windows will be opened to flood the space with natural light, and the prominent corner window at the junction of Knightsbridge and Sloane Street will become a dedicated pop-up area for exclusive brand launches and collaborations.
Goddard added, “With the opening up of the windows and a new flexible experiential space, it offers a dynamic platform for unexpected collaborations and unique brand moments”.
The transformation also includes a new installation by artist and designer Gary Card, further underlining the retailer’s commitment to creativity and innovation.
Harvey Nichols creative director Kate Phelan said, “This is a pivotal moment for Harvey Nichols. The new ground floor is about more than product – it’s a statement of intent. We’re creating an experience that feels relevant, exciting and, above all, individual. This is just the beginning of what’s to come”
The phased redevelopment signals Harvey Nichols’ ambition to redefine the luxury retail experience and strengthen its position as a destination for both design and lifestyle.
