Morrisons is experiencing systems issues that are impacting More Card discounts, home delivery and Click & Collect orders just days before Christmas.
In a statement on X, the supermarket chain said that users of its loyalty card scheme who have ‘Morrisons Fivers’ – discount vouchers worth £5 – need to have these redeemed manually by in-store staff.
Earlier on Monday the company, which operates nearly 500 stores across the United Kingdom, said it would offer a 10 per cent discount on customer shopping baskets for anyone impacted by More Card prices not registering.
To solve the issue, the retailer later made the top 100 More Card prices the regular price across its stores nationwide, still extending its discount offer as an apology to More Card members until it closes on Christmas Eve.
Customers who have placed Click & Collect orders are also being asked to wait for an email to inform them that their order is ready for collection before heading to store.
Additionally, Morrisons said that home delivery orders could be impacted, with some potentially arriving late. The company assured customers that it would be contacting those affected by late deliveries directly.
The incident comes at a particularly unwelcome time for Morrisons, which less than a month ago was impacted by a ransomware attack against its third party supply chain partner Blue Yonder.
The November attack caused significant disruption to British supermarkets just weeks before the Christmas shopping season, with Morrisons especially affected by the incident.
At the time, a Morrisons spokesperson confirmed that the firm had suffered a major outage and that it had reverted to a backup process.
Speaking about the technical issues impacting More card and customer orders, the company wrote: “We sincerely apologise to our customers for this inconvenience."
