River Island partners Klarna for flexible payments

River Island has become the latest fashion retailer to offer online customers a pay by instalments option, after it announced a partnership with Klarna.

The High Street brand said the deal, enabled by technology from Adyen, will offer shoppers the option to cover the cost of purchases over three equal monthly instalments interest, and fee free, as part of Klarna’s Pay in 3.

River Island joins more than 170,000 merchants with online operations - including ASOS, Swoon, Michael Kors and Topshop - in partnering Klarna for flexible finance options.

Sean Hastings, chief customer officer at River Island UK, said: “Introducing Klarna’s Pay in 3 gives our customers a more flexible way of buying into our latest collections – it’s a great benefit to River Island customers and Klarna’s credentials in this space made them the right partner to make it happen.”
