Temu launches Shopify app to broaden merchant access across local markets

Temu has released a new app for Shopify merchants that allows small and mid-sized businesses to list and manage products on Temu directly from their Shopify dashboards, opening access to the platform’s Local Seller Program across more than 30 markets including the US, Canada, the UK, Germany, Spain and Australia.

The app is available in the Shopify App Store and is designed to simplify international expansion by removing the need to build separate infrastructure for each market. Merchants can sync their product catalogues with Temu’s platform, list across more than 600 categories, and manage inventory and fulfilment from a single interface.

Temu said the integration lowers operational costs and complexity while helping sellers reach new customers. “Shopify merchants can now easily reach new customers on our global platform,” a Temu spokesperson said. “This app is part of our efforts to lower barriers and create growth opportunities for businesses worldwide while giving shoppers greater convenience and choice.”

Core features include one-click product synchronisation for faster, more accurate listings, real-time inventory updates to reduce overselling risks, and automated order and shipping coordination for smoother fulfilment. The Local Seller Program, introduced in 2024, enables businesses to sell and fulfil orders within their domestic markets, a model that Temu says improves delivery speed and expands product variety for local shoppers.

Temu’s programme currently operates in countries across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and parts of the Middle East and Latin America, including the US, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Sweden, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Canada, Australia, Portugal, Türkiye, Greece, Denmark, Finland, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ireland, Lithuania, Croatia, Brazil, Estonia, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, Latvia, Cyprus and Norway.

The integration comes at a time when marketplace platforms are increasingly competing to attract merchants while simultaneously navigating shifting trade rules and regulatory pressures.

The tool aims to broaden Temu’s product mix and help the platform adapt to changing cross-border dynamics by leaning into local fulfilment and embedded merchant services.
