Klarna expands BigCommerce partnership to Europe

Klarna is to expand its partnership with e-commerce platform BigCommerce from the US to core European markets.

The move will means that BigCommerce merchants located in the UK, Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Scandinavian countries will be able to integrate Klarna’s Pay later options, letting customers to split the cost of items over a defined time frame rather than an up front cost.

The integration was first rolled out in the US in 2016, aimed at driving higher value orders than those traditionally paid for with credit cards, or other payment options.

Brent Bellm, chief executibe of BigCommerce, said: “After success working with Klarna in the US, we anticipate rapid adoption and usage across our European customer base.”
