Topps Tiles appoints Alex Jensen as new chief executive

Topps Tiles has announced Alex Jensen as its new chief executive, succeeding Rob Parker who revealed plans to retire earlier this year.

Jensen will assume the role on 15 September 2025 and join the board as an executive director.

Jensen joins from National Express UK, Ireland & Germany where she served as chief executive. Her career includes 13 years at BP, where she held several leadership positions including divisional chief executive and global chief marketing officer. During her tenure at BP, she led the transformation of the company's retail and business to business fleet services across 15 international markets, overseeing thousands of branded service stations and shops while managing brand strategy, digital development and customer loyalty programmes.

The incoming chief executive currently serves as a non executive director and chair of the sustainability committee at Inchcape plc, an automotive distribution company. She also holds a trustee position at mental health charity Mind.

Paul Forman, chair of Topps Tiles, commented: "Alex brings extensive retail, multi site and digital experience along with a proven track record in value creation. I'm confident she will play a key role in helping us achieve our Mission 365 objectives and create value for all stakeholders."

Parker will remain in position until late this year to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities.

In separate leadership changes, the company announced that chief financial officer Stephen Hopson will depart to join Marston's plc in the same role. Mike Killick has been appointed interim chief financial officer and will work with Hopson ahead of his departure on 3 September. Killick brings extensive financial leadership experience from companies including Pod Point Group Holdings plc, Restore plc, Peacocks, Thorntons and Jones Bootmaker.
