Burberry appoints Gianluca Flore as chief commercial officer

Burberry has appointed Gianluca Flore as its new chief commercial officer.

Flore, who is currently Burberry’s senior vice president of retail in the US and its global head of retail excellence, will began the new position on September 1.

The US was the fashion brand’s fastest growing region in the first quarter of 2021.

The Italian-born executive is set to relocate to Burberry’s London headquarters from New York.

Prior to joining Burberry, Flore spent a decade working at Kering and has previously held positions at La Perla and Fendi.

Flore will replace Gavin Haig, who held the position of chief commercial officer since April 2018, after serving as chief executive officer of Belstaff for over three years.

Burberry did not provide reasons for Haig’s departure.
