CitySprint hiring 600 couriers to cope with seasonal demand

CitySprint is recruiting 600 couriers across the UK to meet increased demand around the festive period.

The distribution company has around 3500 couriers around the country and the new joiners will focus on larger volumes and the need for faster turn arounds during the peak season.

The firm is focused on recruiting drivers in several UK cities including London, Birmingham, Cambridge and Leeds, with some of the couriers driving electric vehicles.

The company is adding 40 electric vans by the end of the year and aims to roll out more during 2023.

Commenting on the news Mark Footman, chief operations officer at CitySprint, said: “Our focus is always on providing our clients with the best possible service and, in turn, helping them do the same for their customers. Getting the festive-season supply chain right can be difficult and we understand how important this time of year is for everyone."

He added: “With just over eight weeks to go until Christmas, we’re making sure we have the right team in place to provide a first-class service for our customers to help keep their operations moving during this year’s peak season. We’re also bolstering our fleet to support the ongoing demand we foresee in January 2023 and beyond.”
