Co-op partners with YEEP! to install parcel lockers

The Co-op has partnered with parcel locker provider YEEP! to install lockers at 30 of the convenience retailer’s stores.

The parcel lockers will be trialled at Co-op stores in locations including Bolton, Bletchley, and Carmarthenshire, with the company saying it plans to roll out lockers to more locations during 2025.

The move comes after Co-op announced plans to open 75 new stores in 2025 and refurbish up to 80 existing stores earlier this month.

The retailer stated that, in addition to expanding its reach, these plans will enable the Co-op to offer additional services such as parcel collection and returns, payment services, and functioning as fulfilment hubs for the retailer’s leading online quick commerce operations.

Co-op said that the new partnership with YEEP! is designed to meet the evolving needs of busy shoppers and the increasing demand for safe, secure and convenient parcel lockers.

The company added that parcel lockers enable customers to better manage their deliveries, save time and help to cut last mile emissions.

“The parcel lockers form part of Co-op’s approach to develop added services and enhanced convenience - creating a compelling customer offer to ensure our stores are a convenient destination not only for groceries but for a range of services that meet the needs of local communities,” said George Hayworth, head of quick commerce development at Co-op. “Helping local residents, commuters and time-pressed consumers pick up or return parcels at a time that suits them, quickly, easily and conveniently.”
