CVS Health enhances customer experience with new AI-powered app

CVS Health has launched a new AI-powered app for its pharmacy store customers, as the US healthcare giant seeks to boost customer satisfaction through a more personalised service.

The new tool, which succeeds the company’s previous CVS Pharmacy app, is designed as a ‘one-stop’ healthcare platform for customers, aiming to provide a more accessible and convenient service for customers.

Features include the ability to manage prescriptions for the whole family in CVS Pharmacy shops, CVS Caremark mail orders, and CVS Specialty pharmacies, with delivery options included in the online service.

Customers will be able to schedule appointments for vaccinations on the platform, while they can also organise quicker in-store pick-ups for prescriptions by using a customised barcode on the app to speed up payment.

Additionally, the app includes access to an AI chatbot to search for product locations, services and information from CVS Health, and selected third-party content providers and health and wellness-focused content.

The app screen features a personalised health to-do list with recommendations including medication refill reminders, updates on upcoming appointments and savings opportunities.

"The app is the health concierge and guide for all consumers," said Tony Ambrozie, senior vice president and chief digital and technology officer, CVS Health Pharmacy and Consumer Wellness. "With 60 million digital customers, we are excited to continue to innovate and bring best-in-class and first-in-industry capabilities to our customers."
