Footwear retailer Deichmann has implemented a new order fulfilment platform designed to improve the ordering system across multiple countries.
Through the platform, Deichmann will manage network-wide inventory and order processes across stores, online shops, and marketplaces in Europe.
The technology aims to provide real-time visibility into stock levels, optimise inventory allocation, and reduce both overstocks and out-of-stock situations.
An order routing engine automatically assigns orders to the required location, which Deichmann said delivers the best fulfilment option.
Using the technology, Deichmann added that it will be able to easily integrate new sales and inventory channels.
The platform will also enable customers to receive updates on delivery times and product availability.
The company said the platform will improve the customer experience by making the ordering process more flexible, scalable and transparent.
The technology has been installed in partnership with software-as-a-service (SaaS) company fulfilmenttools.
Deichmann said it expects greater efficiency and revenue growth as a result of the platform.
“We need a system that unifies our inventory management and ensures that customers always have accurate information regarding delivery and availability,” said Deichman’s chief executive Severin Canisius. “At the same time, it must enable us to fulfil orders efficiently.”
