Motoring and cycling retailer Halfords has launched a new internal communications platform called Halfords Pulse to improve communication and engagement across its workforce.
The mobile-first platform, which is powered by technology from communications firm Blink, brings together company communications, employee recognition, resources and workplace tools into a single app for employees across the retailer's stores, garages, distribution centres and support offices.
According to a LinkedIn post announcing the launch, the platform aims to give colleagues a simpler way to stay informed and connected regardless of where they work within the business.
The company added Pulse will enable staff to communicate, share updates, recognise colleagues and celebrate achievements across the wider Halfords Group.
“Today is just the beginning, and we're excited to see colleagues across the Group start connecting, sharing, recognising, and celebrating together on Pulse. Helping our One Halfords Family stay connected and keep the nation moving, together.”
In March, convenience store chain Co-op announced it would overhaul how its employees communicate with the installation of new communications technology across the country.
The retailer previously trialled the hardware in 114 locations and, following a successful pilot, began a chain-wide rollout in February 2026. The deployment is expected to be completed by the end of the year, and is part of a five-year partnership between the retailer and communications specialist VoCo Vo.
