Household brand distributor DCS Group announces partnership with XPO Logistics

DCS Group, which describes itself as the UK’s biggest distributor of health, beauty and household brands, has announced a new partnership with XPO Logistics.

The partnership said that DCS Group will use XPO's IT tools to boost its customer experience, as well as the logistics provider's expertise in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.

The distributor says it is rolling out a CO2 dashboard and AI route planning to improve the process and cut unnecessary miles.

The company, which also manufactures goods, works with hundreds of brands to create house-hold name products.

Brands it works with include, Colgate, Pampers, Cow & Gate, Lemsip, Calpol, Nurofen, Daz, Surf, Comfort, Febreze, Andrex, Fairy, Finish, Domestos, Winalot, Felix, Bakers, Pedigree, and Go Cat.

Carl Palmer, chief operations officer at DCS Group, said that the new technology will create opportunities for the business in its industry.

XPO will also provide full truckload and groupage services to DCS Group’s UK customer base.

The companies said that the use of Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) as a clean fuel replacement for diesel will "play an essential role in supporting DCS Group’s sustainability goals".
