John Lewis appoints former M&S marketing director as customer chief

John Lewis has named Anna Braithwaite as its new chief customer officer.

Braithwaite joins from Marks & Spencer where she served as marketing director for fashion, home and beauty for four years.

Before her tenure at Marks & Spencer, Braithwaite spent nearly three years as head of brand marketing for F&F clothing at Tesco. Her career also includes roles at clothing retailers Hobbs and Jacques Vert.

Notably, Braithwaite began her career at John Lewis as a graduate trainee, remaining with the company for ten years in various marketing positions.

In her new role, Braithwaite will oversee John Lewis brand and marketing across all channels, including loyalty programmes, customer experience, and creative and content teams. She is set to join the company on 1 October, reporting to Peter Ruis, managing director of John Lewis.

Ruis commented: "I'm thrilled that Anna is returning to John Lewis. Her deep understanding of our brand and strong customer focus make her ideally suited to lead our customer and marketing strategy. I'm confident Anna will enhance the John Lewis experience our customers value."
