Joybird rolls out 3D-powered planner for mobile devices

US home décor retailer Joybird has integrated 3D product visualisation and configuration capabilities into its space planner tool, available on mobile devices, as it seeks to bridge the digital and in-store shopping experience for shoppers and interior designers.

Developed in collaboration with 3D product visualisation platform 3D Cloud, the updated space planner experience allows customers and showroom associates to create and view room designs via mobile devices.

Users can access, review and share room designs and Joybird furniture combinations previously created from their mobile devices with friends or showroom associates.

he retailer said the move reinforces its efforts to offer a customised end-to-end design and shopping experience across channels, using web-based augmented reality (WebAR) capabilities to visualise Joybird furniture in their space and get a sense of scale and fit by using their phones.

Gerardo Ornelas, vice president and general manager of Joybird, emphasised that the demand for a seamless mobile experience from customers is growing, with at least 70 per cent of Joybird’s traffic coming from mobile devices.

He added: "This enhancement means that customers and associates can stay connected in real-time, with immersive 3D tools that truly bring designs to life, whether they're collaborating in a showroom or at home."
