Lush announces return to Covent Garden

Lush is set to open a new store in London’s Covent Garden after a ten-year absence.

The cosmetics brand, which previously operated a store in Covent Garden between 1998 and 2013, will open as a festive pop-up store on 3 November with a retail space of 255 square metres. The Dorset-headquartered retailer plans to expand the space by 176 squares metres to incorporate its Lush spa concept in spring 2024.

To promote its opening day, the first 100 paying customers will receive a free Lush gift – subject to availability – and visitors will be able to create their own Lush product between 1pm and 4pm for free.

Ellen Peters, Lush UK & Ireland property director described the new store as being set in a “fantastic listed building with entrances from both Long Acre and Floral Street” and said it would give customers the “unique shopping experience that they want and deserve.”

“We’re excited to accommodate our Lush Spa concept within this space and look forward to providing an oasis of calm within central London where our customers can slow down to speed up,” Peters added.

Covent Garden retail estate owner Shaftsbury Capital recently announced that 25 new retail, hospitality and leisure stores had opened in the area over the past six months.

Among the signings are 13 new retail brands, including running shoe brand HOKA and menswear label Balibaris, both of which are opening their first ever retail location in Europe and debut West End store respectively in Covent Garden.
