Maybelline partners with Microsoft Teams on digital makeup

Maybelline has launched an app in Microsoft Teams which allows users to wear virtual makeup and try out different styles.

The cosmetics company, which is part of the L’Oreal group, said that the service aims to democratise makeup and empower people with self-confidence in a work environment.

The app is powered by Modiface AI and has been developed in collaboration with the Geena Davis Institute to ensure that a broad number of diversities are represented.

Users can choose from around 12 different makeup looks, with each including a breakdown of products used to allow people to recreate the virtual look in real life.

The virtual makeup looks are available globally as an option in Teams video calls to those with a Teams enterprise license.

"At Microsoft, empowering people through technology is at the core of what we do," said Nicole Herskowitz, vice president, Microsoft Teams. "The new Maybelline Beauty App in Microsoft Teams is a great example of how, together with our partners, we are giving people more ways to express themselves in hybrid work environments using the power of AI."
