Retailers using Grozeo platform gain access to Uber Direct

Grozeo, the platform which creates online stores for businesses, has announced a new partnership with Uber Direct.

Uber Direct is a white label delivery platform that allows retailers to offer on-demand delivery from within their own website or app.

Through the new partnership, retailers on the Grozeo platform, which provides a number of features including order and inventory management and store performance analytics, can now offer their customers delivery on their website or app for everything from fresh groceries to gifts within a two-hour timeframe.

They also have access to the same tracking technology and courier network as Uber Eats.

Martin Velev, head of marketing at giftware retailer House of Spells said that the move has shown "massive potential" in its early stages.

"The best thing the market can currently offer the gift industry is a same-day service, which is fantastic yet rare," added Velev.

In October, McDonald's UK & Ireland announced it had extended its Uber Direct partnership in a bid to increase the number of customers using its mobile app.

E-commerce and point-of-sale provider Lightspeed also recently integrated Uber Direct and Uber Eats marketplace into its platform.

The move, initially being rolled out in North America, will enable the Canadian company’s restaurant customers to list their menu offerings and take orders from the Uber Eats marketplace.

Co-op and TradeKart have also this year formed partnerships with Uber Direct.

"This partnership with Uber Direct is about levelling the playing field," said Khaja Hussain, chief executive of Grozeo Global. "It’s about giving local businesses the tools they need to thrive in a fast-moving digital world while keeping that personal touch with their customers - so they can stand tall alongside retail giants.”
