Saks Fifth Avenue partners with Amazon for luxury fashion storefront

Saks Fifth Avenue and Amazon have announced a partnership to launch a new luxury shopping experience called "Saks on Amazon" within Amazon's Luxury Stores platform.

The new multi-brand storefront will feature a curated selection of high-end products from designer brands including Dolce & Gabbana, Balmain, Etro, Stella McCartney, Giambattista Valli, Erdem, Fear of God, Jason Wu Collection, Rosetta Getty and Johanna Ortiz, as well as beauty brands Chantecaille and La Prairie.

"We're excited to introduce a new shopping experience that gives Amazon customers the opportunity to discover a distinctive luxury assortment selected by the experts at Saks Fifth Avenue," said Emily Essner, president and chief commercial officer at Saks Global.

The collaboration represents a significant breakthrough for Amazon, which has been attempting to establish itself in the luxury fashion market for years with limited success outside of beauty products. Amazon introduced its Luxury Stores platform in 2020, initially attracting only a few top-tier brands such as Oscar de la Renta.

Jenny Freshwater, vice president of Amazon Fashion, Fitness and Creators, noted: "This collaboration with Saks furthers Amazon's commitment to supporting the luxury industry and increasing our assortment for customers, while maintaining an elevated shopping experience that meets the varying tastes of our diverse customer base."

The storefront will be refreshed regularly with new arrivals and curated collections. It also features shoppable digital "windows" inspired by Saks' iconic Fifth Avenue flagship store displays in New York, allowing customers to browse and instantly add items to their cart.

To promote the launch, Saks and Amazon have created a campaign titled "Saks Arrives on Amazon," directed by Emmy award-winning director Max Siedentopf. The campaign features playful visuals showing luxury products arriving at customers' homes in creative ways.

Amazon has been an investor in Saks Global, Saks Fifth Avenue's parent company, since December, when Saks Global purchased Neiman Marcus for $2.65 billion.

Orders placed through Saks on Amazon will be fulfilled by Saks, while customer service and returns will be handled by Amazon's Luxury Stores. Customers can access the new storefront through the Amazon Shopping app or web browsers by visiting amazon.com/saks or searching for "Saks on Amazon."

Additional luxury brands are expected to join the platform in the coming months as the partnership evolves based on customer engagement and feedback.
