Schuh appoints Nick Scott as CFO

Schuh has announced the appointment of Nick Scott as its new chief financial officer, effective 2 November.

Scott joins from Footasylum, where he served as chief financial officer from February 2023 to April 2026.

Prior to this, he spent almost five years as chief operating financial officer at the UK formalwear business Baird Group and as chief financial officer at the fractional CFO firm the FD Centre.

Scott will replace David Gillan-Reid, who has worked at Schuh since 1998 and as chief financial officer since December 2023.

Tomas Petersson, president at Schuh, said: “Nick is an accomplished finance leader with outstanding experience, combining strategic financial expertise, strong commercial acumen, and proven leadership skills. Just as importantly, he shares our belief in the importance of culture, collaboration and strong teams in driving performance.

“His track record of supporting businesses through change and delivering improved performance will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our position as the UK’s go-to fashion footwear destination and deliver an even better experience for our customers.”

In its latest financials, published in March and covering the year ending 1 February 2025, Schuh reported a 60 per cent year on year drop in EBITDA to £11.2 million and an 80.5 per cent decline in profits before tax to £4.1 million.

In January, Schuh announced Laura King as its new chief marketing officer, bringing experience from Nike marketing campaigns. The brand said King will lean into visual marketing, brand partnerships and creative opportunities to help Schuh achieve its “ambition to be an unrivalled fashion footwear destination for Gen-Z and Gen-Alpha”.
