MICROS snaps up Snow Valley

MICROS Systems has announced the acquisition of UK-based e-commerce services and technology provider, Snow Valley. MICROS, a leading provider of enterprise applications for the retail and hospitality industries, sees the deal as strengthening its ability to offer e-commerce technology, services and expertise to existing customers and new markets throughout the UK and Europe.

The acquisition also allows Snow Valley to extend its e-commerce service offering, by bringing the Open Commerce Platform (OCP) to Europe. OCP, developed by MICROS US subsidiary Fry Inc., powers the online operations of several major US retailers, including Vera Bradley, Eddie Bauer and Godiva. As an enterprise platform, it will complement Snow Valley’s own Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) e-commerce platform, MUSE.

Carlo Rimini, founder and CEO of Snow Valley, says: “This is a very exciting development for the company and our clients. Our mission has always been to help retailers grow their businesses through the innovative and effective use of e-commerce. Joining the MICROS family will allow Snow Valley to continue that work, while also providing us an extended range of products to help retailers develop their multi-channel strategies.”
