Walmart poaches new AI shopping exec from Google

Walmart has appointed Sean Scott as senior vice president AI Shopping.

He joins the firm from Google, where he served as GM Shopping for two years.

At Google, Scott led the AI-driven transformation of Google Shopping across all core Google areas, including Search, AI Mode, Google Shopping, Chrome and YouTube.

Scott also worked at online retail giant Amazon for over 14 years holding various leadership roles.

For four years Scott served as vice president of Amazon Scout, a fully-electric delivery system designed get packages safely to customers using autonomous delivery devices.

Additionally, Scott oversaw Amazon’s homepage, product pages and checkout, building much of the technology needed for these processes.
