White Stuff has promoted current trading director Tracey Verghese to managing director, with immediate effect.
Verghese joined White Stuff as merchandising director in 2018. She was then promoted to trading director in 2021, where she was tasked with leading the brand’s commercial strategy across all channels and third-party partnerships.
Prior to that, she spent 13 years at Marks & Spencer (M&S), where she was head of merchandising womenswear for more than eight years.
During her time at the British retailer, she also held several other senior positions, including senior merchandise manager, head of online trading, and head of merchandise kids wear.
White Stuff said the promotion comes as Verghese played “a pivotal role in transforming the brand into a modern, commercially agile business,” following growth in sales and profit.
In the year ended April 27, 2024, the retailer registered a 2.4 percent increase in total sales to £155 million and a 23 percent increase in EBITDA to £8.6 million.
In October last year, White Stuff was acquired by TFG London, a fashion retail group whose brand portfolio also includes brands like Hobbs, Whistles, and Phase Eight.
Earlier this month, former chief executive Jo Jenkins announced her departure at the after seven years at the company to “pursue new opportunities.”
Jenkins had joined White Stuff from M&S, where she was director of home and beauty.
