eBay has partnered with digital payments platform Checkout.com.

The partnership will see the e-commerce giant expand its global payment platform capabilities.

eBay said the move would improve customer experience and drive operational efficiencies.

With more than 2.3 billion live listings, the company is one of the world’s largest online marketplaces.

The business serves millions of customers across 190 markets who buy and sell a range of items, including pre-loved fashion, electronics, and collectibles.

“eBay operates at a significant global scale, and our customers value speed, convenience, and safety while shopping on our marketplace," said Avritti Khandurie Mittal, vice president & general manager of global payments and financial services at eBay. "Our strategic partnership with Checkout.com enables us to continue delivering fast, reliable, and frictionless payments experiences to millions of customers globally."

The global payments lead added that the partnership highlights the company's commitment to accelerating both customer and business growth through unique payments and financial services.

Guillaume Pousaz, chief executive at Checkout.com said: “Payments performance is critical at this enterprise-level scale, and our technology, data, and acquiring expertise will help eBay maximise acceptance in global markets and drive efficiency across its platform. Together, we’re shaping the future of the digital economy.”
