B&Q expands Deliveroo partnership

Home and garden retailer B&Q has expanded its delivery partnership with Deliveroo, adding five larger format London-based stores to the existing service across several B&Q Local sites.

From Monday, customers in Beckton, Sidcup, Watford, Acton and Romford will be able to order products for on-demand delivery in as little as 25 minutes.

The service will give customers in the larger London shops access to a range of over 9,500 products, with products including a larger selection of paint brands, gardening, storage, and home furnishing products among others than its B&Q Local stores.

The expansion follows the launch of the service from the retailer’s smaller format B&Q Local High Street stores in August 2024.

Eight B&Q Local stores in London, including Camden, Harrow, Palmers Green, Streatham, Sutton, Tooting, Wandsworth, and Wood Green, as well as one store in Staines-Upon-Thames, Surrey, have access to the service.

B&Q currently has over 300 stores throughout the UK and Ireland, with over one million products available through diy.com for home delivery or click and collect.

B&Q launched the UK's first home improvement marketplace in March 2022, offering in-store returns for many products and Click + Collect options.

Amelie Gallichan-Todd, supply and logistics director at B&Q, emphasised the retailer’s efforts to boost customer experience through the expanded partnership.

“By extending our service with Deliveroo to five of our larger stores, we're increasing the range of products available, to help meet the increasing consumer demand for speed and convenience as well as options for delivery,” she said.

In November 2024,, Deliveroo also partnered with fashion rental platform Hurr to offer on-demand designer dress delivery in central London, offering sustainable fashion access for party-goers this festive season.

The collaboration, which represents Deliveroo’s first venture into fashion delivery, enables users to rent luxury fashion items from more than 50 designer brands, including Self-Portrait, 16 Arlington, Nadine Merabi, and Rixo, with delivery possible in as little as 20 minutes.

Other partnerships during the festive season included one with Accessorize, which launched in December with eight Accessorize shops in London. The company plans to expand to other UK locations in the coming months.
