Bloomingdale’s hires new chief technology officer

American department store chain Bloomingdale’s has hired Kirsten Miller as its new chief technology officer.

Miller has worked at US luxury retailer Neiman Marcus Group (NMG) since 2021, most recently serving as vice president.

In this role, she was responsible for NMG's enterprise-wide product portfolio, including all customer digital experiences and apps, clienteling tools for store staff, marketing technology, a personalisation platform, its loyalty programme, SEO, point of sale, enterprise applications and supply chain.

In her new role, Miller will be responsible for defining the vision and roadmap for Bloomingdale's digital and omnichannel ecosystem.

She will also serve as the central strategic voice for product and technology priorities, leading transformation initiatives in customer experience, digital products, and personalisation to strengthen customer relationships.

In a post on LinkedIn, Miller explained that the new role was designed to support the company through product, leading a fully omnichannel team focused on executing strategy and promoting innovation, agility and growth at every touchpoint.

She added that the new role comes at a “transformative moment” for the luxury retail sector and for Bloomingdale's in particular, as the company pursues its mission to provide customers with new experiences, form deeper relationships, and evolve business models.“I am thrilled to be part of a team with a ‘Customer First, Always’ mentality: committed to redefining the future of retail through technology, dreaming big to innovate and achieve desired outcomes while always keeping the customer at the center,” she wrote.
