Flying Tiger Copenhagen appoints new group chief executive

Flying Tiger Copenhagen has announced the appointment of Jens Aarup Mikkelsen as its new group chief executive.

Mikkelsen, who has worked at the retailer for over seven years, will step down from his current role as chief executive International to take up the position.

Prior to joining Flying Tiger Copenhagen, Mikkelsen worked for shoe brand Ecco for over 15 years.

He held a variety of senior roles including market director and commercial manager.

In his new role, Mikkelsen will help to drive the company’s international growth.

The company said that he has already developed and strengthened the international operations in his current role, playing a central role in both shaping and executing the strategy.

Since 2021 he has been responsible for leading franchise expansion outside Europe, which Flying Tiger Copenhagen said represents a key growth area.

Mikkelsen succeeds Martin Jermiin, who has spent seven years in the role.

Flying Tiger Copenhagen said Jermiin will continue his career outside the company. Jermiin will remain a member of the board of directors of Zebra A/S, the parent company of Flying Tiger Copenhagen.

“I’m very pleased to announce Jens Aarup Mikkelsen as our new chief executive,” said John Dueholm, chairman of Zebra A/S. “Jens’ appointment ensures continuity, stability and continued momentum, as he has been part of Flying Tiger Copenhagen’s leadership team since 2019 and brings extensive international experience and deep knowledge of the business.”
