Klarna hits 20 million US customers

Klarna has doubled its customer base in the United States since June 2020.

The retail bank, payments, and buy now, pay later service now has 20 million customers in the US.

The Klarna app currently has four million monthly active US users.

Klarna said that daily downloads of the platform had surpassed the closest competitor by 20 per cent.

“The rapid growth of Klarna customers in the US speaks to consumer demand for flexible payment options and a more seamless, convenient shopping experience," said David Sykes, head of North America, Klarna. "As people browse and buy across channels, the Klarna app allows them to discover new products and brands while having the ability to shop both in-store and online with interest-free payment options.”

The Klarna executive said that over the next year the company plans to continue expanding its US merchant base.
