Primark and Authentic Brands to bid for Arcadia

Primark and Authentic Brands Group are among 40 parties interested in bidding for parts of Sir Philip Green’s Arcadia Group, according to The Times.

The newspaper said that high up on the list of potential buyers is Authentic Brands, the New York based brand management company which has Juicy Couture in its portfolio.

River Island has also been identified as a potential bidder.

Last week The Guardian reported that Arcadia administrators were ‘seeking bids of up to £200 million’ for Sir Phillip Green’s TopShop.

There has been lots of interest in Green’s Arcadia, with Sports Direct owner Mike Ashley making an offer of £50 million of bail out loans to support the business, and showing interest in acquiring assets of some of Arcadia's most iconic brands, including TopShop.

Retail Systems has reached out to Primark owner Associated British Foods, Authentic Brands and River Island for comment.
