Matthias Baeumer, chief commercial officer at the athletic apparel and footwear brand Puma, has announced he is to step down from his role effective 30 September.
Puma said Baeumer had taken the decision for "personal reasons" and that it will announce his successor in due course.
Baeumer has held the role of CCO at Puma since 2025, having first joined in 2007. In his time at the organisation, he has worked as a sales director and general manager for Austria, Benelux, Germany, and Switzerland and has overseen its Teamsport business unit, first as a general manager then as vice president.
He will continue to advise Puma as a consultant and to represent the brand in his role as a member of the supervisory board for Borussia Dortmund football club.
Arthur Hoeld, chief executive of Puma, said: "I would like to thank Matthias for his commitment to the brand in his various roles and for his contribution to the measures as part of our 3-year transformation journey. I am very happy that he agreed to continue to support us as a consultant," he added. "We wish him all the best in his future endeavours."
Until Baeumer's successor is found, Hoeld will assume responsibility for Puma's sales organisation and subsidiaries.
Throughout 2026, Puma has changed its senior financial and commercial approach through strategic shifts and key hires. In April, it announced that ex-Hugo Boss chief Mark Langer would join as its new chief financial officer and in July it appointed Dusan Hamlin as its new vice president of e-commerce.
Hamlin will oversee Puma's global digital strategy across e-commerce and online marketplaces, with a new approach driven by the brand's decision to split its direct-to-consumer business into two segments, global e-commerce and global retail.
