sofa.com opens first outlet store

UK furniture retailer sofa.com has opened its first outlet store at Yorkshire’s Junction 32.

The company said that its expanded physical presence will mean products are ready for immediate purchase or available for pick up in three days, eliminating the "typical four-six week lead time".

The retailer went on to say that the new store, which is owned by Frasers Group, is designed to "boost the shopping experience" by allowing consumers to easily find and customise their ideal furniture pieces across an "extensive selection of unique designs and innovative products."

Items for sale at the store will include premium crafted sofas, beds, dining ranges and home accessories, as well as a range of clearance stock items, which will be regularly updated.

The move comes as demand for homeware grows across the UK.

According to a recent report by Mintel, nearly nine in 10 consumers engaged in the market in 2023 compared to eight in 10 in 2021.

“Our first outlet store will bring sofa.com’s furniture closer to consumers, showcasing our effortless shopping experience," said Ruth Newman, managing director at sofa.com. "We look forward to welcoming Junction 32’s customers and helping them discover the perfect pieces for their homes.”
