Topps Tiles appoints non-executive director

Topps Tiles has announced the appointment of Denise Jagger as an independent non-executive director and chair of the sustainability committee.

Jagger joins Topps Tiles from Reach and CLS Holdings, where she is currently a non-executive director. She has held non-executive director roles at a variety of companies including Redrow, Scarborough Building Society and Bellway. She is currently senior independent director at Reach.

Jagger is a qualified solicitor and was previously company secretary and general counsel at Asda Walmart and is currently a trustee of the National Trust and recently retired as chair of the University of York.

She will join the board of directors on 1 February and will succeed Keith Down, who is retiring from the board, as senior independent director.

"Denise is a seasoned public company non-executive director and senior independent director, and her specific experience of consumer facing businesses and within the construction and building materials sector are highly relevant and make her a great fit for the Topps Group team,” said Paul Forman, chair of Topps Group. “We welcome her to the Board and look forward to her contribution to the Group's future development."

Retail should not be a high-risk occupation. As a company, we are focused on listening to our colleagues and customers to help them with the issues they are facing in-store and so far, the feedback on our body cameras has been excellent.
