Aldi appoints CFO

Aldi UK & Ireland has announced the appointment of Hayleigh Lupino as its chief financial officer (CFO).

Lupino joins from pub group Marston’s PLC, where she is currently CFO.

She has worked at Marston’s for over 20 years in a variety of senior leadership roles.

Aldi said that her appointment completes Aldi’s new board structure at a time when Aldi is investing £650 million in new store openings, upgrades to existing sites, and improvements to its distribution network and infrastructure this year.

"Hayleigh joins our National Board as we deliver our £650m investment plan this year, opening new stores and further improving our operations to continue bringing great quality products at unbeatable prices to millions of households across the UK," said Giles Hurley, chief executive, Aldi UK & Ireland. "Her extensive experience will be invaluable as we continue to grow and invest in Britain."

Aldi currently has upwards of 1,050 stores in the UK, with plans to open hundreds more over the next few years as part of its long-term growth strategy.

Lupino will take up her role later this year.
