Aptos acquires BT Expedite

BT Expedite, the retail IT arm of the British telecoms giant, has been purchased by US retail technology firm Aptos.

BT Expedite is already the exclusive reseller of Aptos solutions in Europe. Finalised on September 30, the deal includes a clienteling application currently resold by Aptos in North America, a retail learning management system, the Mercatus merchandising platform, and e-commerce platform FrescaCommerce.

Aptos will inherit BT Expedite’s current customers – nearly 100 retailers with operations in 13 countries including WH Smith, Primark, Supergroup and Mothercare.

Noel Goggin, CEO of Aptos, said: “The acquisition of BT Expedite is the natural progression of this decade-long partnership. For Aptos’ Americas-based customers, the acquisition creates a direct entry point to the European market, offering local expertise and an experienced technical team that is critical to their expansion efforts.”

Aptos will fully integrate the two organisations through the deal – a process it said would be made simpler as a result of the companies’ shared solutions.
