Burberry partners Roblox for virtual handbag collection

Burberry is partnering with online game Roblox for its signature Lola bag collection.

The luxury fashion retailer’s five virtual handbags will each be available for 24 hours from 11-15 July on the Roblox online storefront.

Costing 800 Roblox each – £8.99 – the bags will come with complementary emotes, virtual pop-out animation including fluttering butterflies and floating clouds.

Roblox players will be to use the bags with their avatars, with each bag allowing the player to unapologetically express themselves and their avatar in the digital space, Burberry said.

The luxury retailer added that each Lola bag’s design expresses a unique personality through ‘unexpected and captivating 3D textures,’ inspired by the brand’s house codes and affinity for the outdoors.

In homage to Burberry’s heritage, the Nimbus bag – surrounded by clouds – is described as ethereal and calming, while the Hydro bag ripples with undulating droplets to evoke a sense of wanderlust.

Finally, the company said the Bloom bag represents its commitment to protect nature. Set among a meadow with fluttering butterflies, the playful and design features Lola’s signature TB Monogram entwined with a single rose.
