Co-op appoints two new co-managing directors

The Co-op is set to appoint two new co-managing directors to replace its current food chief executive Jo Whitfield.

Whitfield is set to take four months off to help prepare her sons for exams.

Current chief operating officer Chris Whitfield and current chief commercial officer Matt Hood will take on the new roles from May onwards.

The new comes after Co-op Group chief executive Steve Murrells announced he will be stepping down in May.
