Homewares retailer Dunelm has announced the appointment of Ajay Kavan and Daniel Tayler as non-executive directors.

Taking up their roles on 1 March, they will both join the audit and risk, remuneration and nominations committees.

Kavan has extensive experience in the retail sector having worked as chief executive of Matches Fashion from 2020 to 2021 and held several senior positions at Amazon between 2011 and 2020.

He is currently a senior advisor to global investment firm KKR and is a member of the advisory panel to Piper Private Equity. Kavan also serves in a non-executive capacity on the board of Rohlik Group and is vice chair at the Prince of Wales' charity, In Kind Direct.

Tayler is currently chief executive officer at global betting and gaming company Flutter International. Prior to this he was chief executive officer of PaddyPowerBetfair and held senior roles at Teletext Holidays and DMG Media.

"I am very pleased to welcome Ajay and Dan to Dunelm,” said Alison Brittain, chair of Dunelm. “Their appointments reflect our ongoing focus on ensuring effective Board composition and complementary skill sets.

“Ajay's experience across a range of well-known retailers strengthens our Board as we continue to drive multi-channel growth across our total retail system. Dan's experience, particularly in the delivery of digital growth strategies in consumer-facing businesses, will add further expertise and value as we continue to evolve and improve our customer proposition.”

As a company, we are focused on listening to our colleagues and customers to help them with the issues they are facing in-store and so far, the feedback on our body cameras has been excellent.
