UK homewares retailer Dunelm has reported a 59 per cent boost to sales across a two-year period compared to pre-pandemic levels.
The company said that sales growth had been “very strong” since the majority of its stores re-opened on 12 April.
In the five weeks since its stores re-opened, Dunelm said it performed “significantly” ahead of the market.
Due to this unexpected performance, the board predicts full year pre-tax profits ahead of previous expectations. The company predicts profits will hit over £148 million.
The retailer also reported continued digital growth from its home delivery and Click & Collect channels.
Dunelm attributed the high sales growth to a variety of factors, including pent up demand following the extended store closure period, a buoyant homewares market and some benefit from the unseasonably cold Spring weather.
