Frasers Group managing director of sport quits role

Ger Wright will be leaving her role as managing director of sport at Frasers Group on November 30, the retailer announced in a statement on Monday.

The department store chain added that Wright will remain on the board as a non-executive director.

Prior to her role at Frasers Group, Wright worked at Nike for almost fifteen years.

From 2018 to 2021 she was vice president general manager merchandising marketplace at sportswear giant, with duties including product assortment and merchandising strategy and assisting in maximising sales.

During her time at the global brand she held a number of senior positions, including senior category sales director Nike sportwear western Europe, senior sales director young athletes western Europe and senior strategic account executive.

“Frasers has provided the platform to develop and deliver consumer led marketing and business strategies; successfully lead complex enterprise scale transformation; and building exceptional cross functional teams in matrix organisations,” Wright said on her LinkedIn page.Frasers Group said that since her appointment in 2022, Wright has made significant contributions to the execution of the group’s elevation strategy, with a particular focus on the introduction of a range of running and outdoor concepts, the onboarding of new brands, and international expansion into new markets.
