Meridian Farm Market automates sale orders and data transfers

Canada-based meat and farm produce retailer Meridian Farm Market has automated sales orders and data transfers between its ERP system, Shopify and its point of sale (POS) system by integrating a new integration and automation platform.

The integration, completed in collaboration with Coreless Platforms, has enabled the business to remove manual data entry and gain access to real-time data and sales insights.

The company’s chief financial officer Brody McDearmid said that the move has enabled it to have immediate access to financial data in its Syspro ERP system.

Integrating the platform

As part of the integration, the platform is now able to connect the retailer’s point of sale (POS) system to Syspro, pulling the product pricing from the POS software and updating both Syspro and Shopify.

McDearmid said that the tool also uploads the product information, titles, names, and descriptions from Syspro to Shopify, as well as updating the inventory levels.

He went on to say that all the sales data is downloaded from Shopify into Syspro and orders are then fulfilled. The platform then marks the order as fulfilled in Shopify.

The firm added that before the implementation, data was added entirely manually and only recorded bulk sales values into its accounting software on a monthly basis.

“Syspro was one of the ERP systems that we evaluated. As part of the solution, we needed the ERP to integrate to our existing website, which was built on Shopify,” McDearmid continued. “Therefore, as part of the request for proposal (RFP), we informed all of the ERP companies that we needed the ERP to integrate to Shopify.”

A complex integration

McDearmid emphasised the complexity of the operation, with Syspro presenting the new platform as the middleware solution to provide the integration with Shopify as part of its agreement with the retailer.

“Whilst Syspro was initially leading this project, due to the complex nature of our integration, Syspro enlisted the help of Codeless Platforms as the experts in the field,” said McDearmid. “Codeless Platforms was able to parachute in, take over the responsibility and deliver the project quickly and easily.”

Codeless Platforms currently has more than 7,500 clients and 450 global partners.

Last week, Montreal-headquartered Attitude rolled out a business process automation (BPA) platform for its B2B and B2C orders as the company looks to ditch manual processing across its sales channels.

The company, which specialises in natural personal care and sustainable household products, has deployed the platform to integrate Amazon and its Shopify B2C website with planning software Syspro, automating electronic data interchange (EDI) orders and sales order processes.
