Morrisons announces ‘cost-saving’ collector programme

Morrisons has announced a range of seasonal cost-saving offers for users of its My Morrisons app as customers struggling with record-high inflation.

The supermarket has reintroduced its collector programme for app and card users.

Launching on 7 November, the grocer said eligible app customers will be invited to participate in the five-week scheme, enabling them to receive a money-off voucher if they have met the criteria and shopped in four of the relevant weeks.

Offers also include bonus basket items and a ‘buy four get the fifth free’ hot drinks offer for use in Morrisons cafes.

Morrisons has also recently enabled users to add the My Morrisons app to their Apple or Google Wallet.

“We know that our customers are under real financial pressure right now and want to play our part in helping them when it comes to the cost of the festive grocery shop,” said Rachel Eyre, chief customer and marketing officer at Morrisons. “The addition of My Morrisons-exclusive offers means we are offering loyal customers even more value.”

Earlier this year Which? accused UK supermarkets, including Morrisons, of unclear pricing amidst the cost-of-living crisis.

An investigation found that 72 per cent of consumers couldn’t identify the cheapest item in a range of real-life examples from supermarkets.
