Rohlik Group appoints new CTO

E-grocery retailer Rohlik Group has appointed David Pavlík as its new chief technology officer.

Rohlik group, which attained unicorn status in 2021, runs grocery delivery apps across several European countries, including the Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, Germany and Romania.

Pavlík has previously worked for companies including SpaceX, Amazon and Netflix, most recently holding the position of chief technology officer at Nano Energies, an energy technology company.

He worked for four years at SpaceX and between 2014 and 2018. For two of those years, Pavlík worked as software automation program manager, where he developed software tools to help rockets launch into space.

Pavlík, who will join the company on 1 June, replaces Ondřej Klamt, who will go on sabbatical after eight years at Rohlik.

“David's arrival is critical to our next phase of growth,” said Tomáš Čupr, chief executive and founder of Rohlik. “His experience and approach are exactly what the Rohlik Group needs for further technological development.

“At the same time, I would like to express my enormous gratitude to Ondrej for his excellent work with us. His contribution to our success has been enormous and he has left behind a strong legacy that we will build on.”
