Wilko launches on-demand delivery as it continues High Street return

Wilko has partnered with Deliveroo to offer more than 3,000 popular home and garden products for on-demand delivery.

These items will now be available for delivery from 10 locations across the UK, including Edinburgh, Bristol, Nottingham, Bournemouth, Eccles, Manchester, Bedford, Harlow, Plymouth and Leeds, before being rolled out to a further 50 locations in the next few months.

The move marks the first time wilko has offered an on-demand, rapid delivery service.

Talking about the company's new partnership with Deliveroo, Alex Simpkin, group chief executive officer at CDS Superstores trading as wilko and The Range, said: “It’s great to be making wilko so much more accessible to its loyal customer base. There’s a huge love for the brand and while we continue to open new stores this partnership gives us the opportunity to reach people quicker. All the great things you expect from wilko and more in as little as 25 minutes!”

In August, the retail chain announced it would make its return in London this autumn, marking a significant milestone in its ambitious nationwide expansion.

At the time, the retailer said it would open a new store in Uxbridge, West London, as part of its strategy to re-establish its presence across the UK.

The London store launch is part of wilko's ambitious five-year plan, which aims to see the brand return to hundreds of high street locations across the UK and, for the first time, expand into Northern Ireland.

CDS Superstores, which also owns and operates The Range, acquired the Wilko branding and intellectual property in a £5 million deal after the retailer fell into administration in August 2023.
