Amazon rebrands Amazon Warehouse

Amazon has rebranded its returned and second-hand selling service, changing the name from Amazon Warehouse to Amazon Resale.

The online retail giant said that Amazon Resale enables customers to get discounts and extend the life of products, saving an average of around 30 per cent on each purchase.

The service offers a wide range of used, refurbished or open-box products which are checked and tested by Amazon before being sold.

Amazon said the sale of second-hand goods in the UK has risen by 15 per cent over the past two years and it has seen this trend reflected in its own business.

The retailer believes this will continue, quoting a One Poll survey, which found that 40 per cent of Gen Z shoppers believe that the majority of their purchases will be second-hand by 2027.

Amazon added that Amazon Resale also contributes to a more circular economy, allowing customers to help extend the life of used or refurbished products preventing them from going to landfill.

“Amazon is committed to giving returned items a second life and saving customers money through Amazon Resale, and also through other channels, like repairs and donations,” the company said. “In 2023, we donated – or helped independent sellers to donate – more than 160 million products worldwide.”
