Amazon is to expand its footprint in London with the opening of two new offices in the capital.
The online retail giant said the offices will be located in the borough of Hackney and will open in December 2025 and April 2026 respectively.
The company already has premises in Shoreditch as well as sites in other parts of the UK, including Swansea, Cambridge and Edinburgh.
Amazon currently employs over 75,000 people across the UK.
Amazon said the new offices will provide additional space close to the Shoreditch building for its teams through increased desk space, the creation of further meeting rooms, and additional space to host events.
The news is part of the company’s wider plans to invest £40 billion in the UK over the next three years.
Amazon said the investment will also create thousands of full-time jobs and fund four new fulfilment centres.
Amazon will open a state-of-the-art facility in Hull later in 2025, which it said will create 2,000 jobs, with another fulfilment centre set to open in Northampton next year.
Last month, Amazon announced the launch of a scheme to provide small businesses in the UK with training and best practice advice on how to innovate as they scale.
The Amazon Innovation Accelerator (AIA) combines in-person workshops with online learning and is available across 19 UK locations.
The free programme gives participating businesses access to the AIA digital SME hub, an online training platform that covers a range of topics including how to work backwards from the customer, AI and LEAN methodology, which is a system focused on continuous improvement by eliminating waste and optimising processes to maximise value.
