Second hand tech marketplace Back Market is rolling out an AI comparison tool that will provide bespoke advice for customers.
The new feature will launch in 2025 via the Back Market app and will provide detailed information into the life expectancy of a refurbished device and its performance. Back Market will also allow users to sign up for personalised information on products tiers and devices features.
The technology is powered by generative AI (genAI) and Back Market said it will allow customers to make a more informed choice before purchasing an item.
The Back Market app currently offers a range of features, including options to purchase refurbished tech online, keep track of and save orders, set price drop alerts and track delivery.
The firm said it will launching an app feature called “Shake Trade-In” that allows users to sell their device by shaking their phone.
During a press conference the retailer announced a set of initiatives, with chief executive Thibaud Hug de Larauze showcasing the new product innovations, which are set to be available to customers in the coming months.
The firm also announced new partnerships with firms worldwide, including with telecommunication firm Bouygues network in France and Verizon in US, and gaming PlayStation, that aim to offer new affordable deals for customers.
