Big Lots rolls out app to boost shopping experience

American discount retail chain Big Lots has rolled out a new app as it seeks to boost the shopping experience for its most loyal customers.

Currently available for existing and new Big Reward members, the New Rewards app brings a host of new features and benefits including in-store rewards access, a personalised dashboard for tracking earnings, and exclusive special offers and gifts.

It also includes features such as one-touch shopping, profile and credit card management, and weekly exclusive deals. Members can access the app on the Apple Store and the Google Play Store.

The new features have been integrated through a unique update of its existing app to provide a smooth transition for users, the company said in a statement.

Big Reward members currently benefit from several rewards, including receiving $5 after every three purchases, $10 bonus for every $200 spent on furniture, and exclusive coupons, discounts and special offers throughout the year.

Bruce Millard, senior vice president of marketing and e-commerce at Big Lots said the app aims to provide a more personalised experience for shoppers.

"We aim to make it easier for our customers to access their rewards, stay informed about the best deals, and manage their profiles and credit cards all in one place as they shop in-store and online for bargains to brag about,” he added.
