Currys has implemented new delivery technology to support its operations and improve real-time visibility for customers on each order.
The electronics retailer has partnered with technology firm Metapack to deploy the solution, which aims to improve customer experience while reducing costs.
The new platform will provide shoppers with more delivery options at checkout alongside real-time tracking throughout the delivery process.
It will also give Currys access to Metapack's network of more than 350 carriers and 4,000 delivery services through a single integration.
“We're pleased to be partnering with Metapack, making it easier than ever before for customers to shop with Currys,” said Simon Boss, director of logistics and home delivery at Currys. “The technology will help us respond quickly to demand and deliver a more seamless shopping experience for our customers.
“It's just one part of our mission to help everyone enjoy amazing technology.”
The partnership comes as consumer demand for faster and more flexible delivery continues to grow. According to Metapack's 2026 Ecommerce Delivery Benchmark Report, 61 per cent of UK consumers are now willing to pay for premium delivery services such as next-day or same-day delivery, up from 50 per cent in 2024.
Last month, Currys announced the appointment of Fredrik Tønnesen as its new group chief executive officer, succeeding Alex Baldock after more than seven years in the role.
Tønnesen, who currently leads the electronic retailer's Nordics business, has more than two decades of experience with Currys. He joined the business as a sales assistant before progressing through several senior leadership roles, including managing director for Norway and chief operating officer for the Nordics region.
