MediaMarktSaturn partners with DPD and GLS for parcel services across nearly 400 stores

MediaMarktSaturn has announced plans to integrate parcel services across almost all 400 of its stores in Germany following a successful pilot in around 50 stores.

Customers can now pick up and send parcels from DPD Germany and GLS at outlets of the electronics retailers.

Customers can send and collect their parcels either in the online pick-up area or at special pick-up zones in the store.

Users can consult the DPD parcel shop finder and GLS store finder to locate their nearest store with parcel services.

The move follows a successful pilot that has been running since mid-2023. Since the trial’s launch, the parcel services have been used 160,000 times by customers.

Around 30 more stores will offer the service by the end of the month, with the service gradually being rolled out to other stores.

MediaMarktSaturn said the service underlines its commitment to offering its customers innovative and customer-friendly solutions that make their everyday lives easier.

The company added that the partnership also supports the DPD and GLS’s aim of growing its parcel infrastructure to 20,000 shared parcel stores and lockers by 2027.

“The successful test operation in over 50 stores has shown that our customers really appreciate the convenient parcel service,” said Stefan Middendorf, project manager for the national roll-out of the parcel stores at MediaMarktSaturn. “With the national rollout, we are now expanding the service to almost all our stores in Germany and have two strong partners at our side in DPD and GLS.

“We are convinced that this customer-friendly service will make our customers' everyday lives even easier and thus contribute to a better shopping experience.”
