Primark to open 5 stores in Texas

Primark has said it will open its first store in Texas next month, with the company planning to open a further four stores in the state.

The budget clothing and homewares retailer said its first store will open at La Plaza in McAllen on 12 December.

Primark said the 37,000 square foot store is in close proximity to Mexico and says it will attract shoppers from the country.

After the store opening, Primark will have 29 stores in the US across 12 states.
Additionally, Primark said it has plans for four other stores in Texas including in Houston, Hurst and El Paso.

"As one of the fastest growing states in the country, Texas represents an exciting growth opportunity for Primark as we continue our expansion across the country," said Kevin Tulip, president of Primark US. "We are extremely excited for our first Texas opening on 12 December and in preparation, we're building our La Plaza team and getting ready to welcome shoppers to experience the joy that our unique combination of quality products at affordable prices brings to families, just in time for the holidays."

In September, Primark announced plans to expand its Click & Collect service to 54 additional stores across the UK.

This expansion will enable over half of Primark’s UK stores to offer the service before Christmas.

Currently, 57 Primark stores provide Click & Collect, primarily in London, Northwest England, and North Wales.
